Black Women in Motion

A grassroots organization that empowers and supports the advancement of black women and survivors of sexual violence, Black Women in Motion creates culturally-relevant content, educational tools, healing spaces and economic opportunities the empower black women and survivors of sexual violence. Two of their employment programs focus on youth, and they have started researching race-based data in Toronto to determine the correlation of poor social determinants of health to gender-based violence in black communities. During COVID-19, Black Women in Motion established a fund to help black women experiencing food and income insecurity.
